I have started a photography Blog as well as this one,
and being someone who hasn't dabbled in HTML since the early days of the internet can't work out how to make my pictures not be cut off.
Its really annoying to have a composition cut.
Any pointers???

I hear your call for help from acrosss the internets.. :)
It's a good question, and I don't really know a really good answer, it happens to me all the time.
There are some wider templates on blogger, you could just find one and change the background to whatever shade of black you find suitable ;).
Alternatively, if you use blogger to upload your image (which adds it to your picasa account), it can choose the best size to fit automagically i think.
